Intelligent Workplace Awards


The Three Rivers Award
The CBPD awarded the 1996 Three Rivers Environmental Award in the Higher Education category. Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and the Duquesne Light Company.

The A.I.A Award
The CBPD received the Business Week/Architectural Record Award 1999 sponsored by the American Institute of Architects, a Honor Award for Architecture and Design for the design of the Robert L. Preger Intelligent Workplace™. This is the highest National Award Category by the American Institute of Architects.

Progressive Architecture Research Award, January 1986
with Volker Hartkopf, Principal Investigator; et al. for "Energy Effective Housing Demonstration in the Inner City" (the Manchester Project). The demonstration project focused on Pittsburgh's inner city Manchester neighborhood, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  The I.D.E.A.S. Award
The Robert L. Preger Intelligent Workplace received a Merit Award in the American Institute of Steel Construction's 2001 I.D.E.A.S. Awards Program. The awards will be presented at the May 2001 annual AIA Convention.
